Enforcement Directorate filed a chargesheet against MLA Rohit Pawar in the MSCB scam. Pawar responded, claiming political targeting and expressed faith in the judiciary, ready to fight ideologically.

Mumbai | 12 July, 2025: The ongoing Maharashtra State Cooperative Bank (MSCB) scam has taken a new turn as the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has filed a supplementary chargesheet against Sharad Pawar faction MLA and youth leader Rohit Pawar under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act. This move is being seen as a major blow to the Sharad Pawar-led group amid ongoing political turbulence in the state.

The ED filed the chargesheet in a special Mumbai court, further intensifying scrutiny over Rohit Pawar and his alleged involvement in financial irregularities linked to the MSCB scam. Earlier, the ED had already attached assets worth over ₹50 crore belonging to Baramati Agro, a company associated with Rohit Pawar. In January 2023, ED officials had raided multiple properties linked to the company and temporarily seized assets worth ₹50.20 crore.

Reacting to this development, Rohit Pawar has made a sharp and defiant statement. He remarked that it is evident to the public why the ED acted against him and under whose pressure. “There’s no need to elaborate. The ED officials were merely following orders. The chargesheet has been filed, which means the investigation is complete. Now the judiciary will decide, and I trust the courts,” said Rohit Pawar.

He added that truth will prevail and the legal process will separate ‘milk from water’. Emphasizing his ideological stand, Rohit stated he is ready to fight any battle for his beliefs. “Maharashtra has never bowed down to oppression and has always embraced struggle — that is our history,” he added.

With the chargesheet now in the court, the legal fight ahead appears to be crucial not just for Rohit Pawar, but also for the political narrative surrounding the Sharad Pawar faction in Maharashtra.
