Pune | 07 June,2025 : Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, known for his people-first approach, once again displayed remarkable empathy when he helped save a kidney patient’s surgery by offering his private chartered flight.
During his visit to Jalgaon’s Muktainagar, Shinde attended a public event. Afterward, a life-or-death situation unfolded at the local airport.
A race against time
Sheetal Patil, a resident of Jalgaon, was en route to Mumbai for a critical kidney transplant. Unfortunately, upon reaching the airport, she discovered her scheduled flight had already departed — leaving her surgery at risk of cancellation.
Desperate, Sheetal’s husband shared their plight with local party workers at the airport. The message quickly reached Minister Girish Mahajan, who conveyed the urgency to Deputy CM Shinde.
A compassionate decision
Without hesitation, Shinde allowed Sheetal and her husband to board his chartered flight to Mumbai. “Even if two of my own staff stay back, my sister must reach on time,” Shinde reportedly said.
During the flight, he comforted Sheetal and inquired about her health. Upon landing in Mumbai, a special ambulance was arranged to rush her to the hospital for the transplant. Shinde’s compassionate act once again highlighted his commitment to the common citizen. Jalgaon’s Guardian Minister Gulabrao Patil praised the Deputy CM, calling this a testament to Shinde’s humane leadership.
