A special empowerment camp in Pune uplifted over 500 children with disabilities through medical, legal, and welfare services. Held at Bal Kalyan Sanstha, the event fostered inclusion and strengthened community bonds ahead of Ganeshotsav.
On June 28, 2025, the Bal Kalyan Sanstha near Raj Bhavan in Pune hosted a heartfelt empowerment camp for children with disabilities, organized by the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) under the guidance of the Maharashtra State Legal Services Authority and the High Court’s Juvenile Justice Committee. From 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., the event brought together medical professionals, legal experts, and community organizations to support over 500 beneficiaries, including more than 100 children who received medical certifications.
The camp offered a range of services, including medical check-ups under the RPWD Act, 2016, covering conditions like visual impairment, autism, cerebral palsy, and more. Families accessed free legal aid, counseling, Aadhaar registration, and guidance on scholarships, pensions, and government schemes. Volunteers distributed wheelchairs, school bags, and meals, while NGOs like Action for Impact Foundation and Saptarishi Foundation facilitated UDID registrations.
The event saw active participation from local leaders and organizations, creating a warm, inclusive atmosphere. Medical teams from Aundh District Hospital and YCM Hospital, Pimpri, ensured thorough assessments, while community efforts provided breakfast for 500 attendees. This collaborative initiative highlighted Pune’s commitment to empowering children with disabilities, ensuring they have the tools and support to thrive in an inclusive society.
