Farmers in Maharashtra can now report solar pump issues via Mahavitaran’s mobile app. Complaints will be resolved within 3 days, with each pump insured and maintained for five years.
Maharashtra| July 03,2025: To ease complaint redressal for solar agricultural pumps, Mahavitaran has introduced a new feature in its mobile app. Farmers can now register complaints related to solar pump malfunctions directly through the app.
So far, 5.65 lakh solar pumps have been installed across Maharashtra through various government schemes. Earlier, farmers had limited options to report pump issues — either via Mahavitaran’s website, the supplier’s website, or through a toll-free number. Now, the mobile app offers a quicker and more user-friendly way to lodge complaints.

The Mahavitaran app, already widely used for bill payments, meter readings, and theft alerts, now includes a ‘Solar Pump Complaint’ option. Farmers should ensure they enter their correct beneficiary ID or registered mobile number while filing complaints. They can report issues such as:
- Pump not starting
- Solar panel damage
- Power pack failure
- Low water pressure
- Theft of panels or pump
Each pump is covered under a five-year maintenance agreement by the supplier, and is insured. Complaints must be resolved within three days, and every supplier must operate a service center in each district where they’ve installed pumps.
After resolution, farmers will receive confirmation messages, and the process will be overseen by the Superintending Engineer of the respective division.
