A Marathi receptionist in Kalyan was assaulted by migrant youth Gopal Jha for asking him to wait to meet a doctor. Police registered a case; the accused is currently absconding.
Kalyan | 22 July, 2025: While tensions are still high over the Nalasopara migrant-Marathi clash, yet another incident has emerged from Kalyan, where a Marathi girl was brutally assaulted by a migrant youth inside a private hospital. The incident has reignited concerns about the safety and respect of local Marathi citizens within their own state.
The assault occurred in the Nandivali area of Kalyan, where the victim, employed as a receptionist at a private hospital, was allegedly attacked with kicks and punches by a man identified as Gopal Jha, a migrant.
According to details from the police report, the accused had come to the hospital demanding to see a doctor immediately. The receptionist informed him politely that the doctor was with another patient (MR) and requested him to wait. But instead of cooperating, the man flew into a rage and physically attacked her inside the hospital premises.
The victim filed an official complaint at the Manpada police station, and a case has been registered. The Manpada police have launched a search operation to locate and apprehend the accused, who is currently absconding.
This disturbing act has caused an uproar in the local community, with many expressing anger over the growing sense of insecurity faced by Marathi residents. Civic groups and social activists are demanding strict and immediate action against the attacker, urging the authorities to ensure justice for the victim and safety for locals.
