Nagpur | July 10,2025: In a shocking display of street violence and criminal rivalry, notorious Nagpur gangster Ajay Muralidhar Gate, alias Ajju, was brutally murdered late at night at Gondwana Chowk in the Bairamji Town area. The 31-year-old, well-known to police for his involvement in illegal liquor and MD drug trade, was attacked and killed in public view.
According to police sources, a group of young criminals, also engaged in illegal liquor smuggling, surrounded Ajju and repeatedly stabbed him with knives, leaving him dead on the spot. Locals were stunned as the brazen attack unfolded right in the open.
Preliminary investigations suggest the motive was control over the illegal liquor business. Ajju had been increasingly confrontational with other peddlers. Police say he often borrowed money from fellow criminals and refused to return it, using threats and intimidation instead. This had led to tension and resentment, culminating in his murder.

Three accused, aged between 19 and 24, have been arrested. All of them were reportedly active in the same underworld circle and involved in liquor distribution in nearby areas. The police are now probing whether more people were involved or if this was a spontaneous act triggered by personal grudges.
The murder has sent shockwaves through the Bairamji Town locality, where Ajju had a reputation for fear and dominance. “We always knew he was into bad business, but never expected such a gruesome end,” said one local resident.
Authorities have stepped up patrols in the area to prevent further violence or retaliation, and further investigation is underway.
