Maharashtra | July 07 ,2025: The monsoon has finally picked up pace across parts of Maharashtra, bringing much-awaited relief to farmers. Regions including Konkan, Ghats, and now Marathwada have started receiving light to moderate rainfall, with heavy rains expected today in five key districts.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for the next 48 hours for Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Parbhani, Hingoli, and Nanded districts. These areas are expected to witness heavy rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms.
District-Wise Forecast Highlights:
- Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:
Winds at 30–40 kmph with heavy rainfall and lightning.
Yellow alert valid for 48 hours. - Jalna, Parbhani, Hingoli, Nanded:
Winds could reach 40–50 kmph, along with heavy rain and thunder.
Yellow alert issued for today.
Meanwhile, Beed, Latur, and Dharashiv districts will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rain at isolated spots, but no official alert has been declared.
With Kharif sowing already completed in many areas, the on-and-off rainfall pattern is keeping farmers on edge. The expected rains in the next 48 hours are likely to aid crop growth, but the uncertainty afterward suggests that farmers must plan carefully.
