Howrah, West Bengal, June 11, 2025: A horrifying case of captivity, abuse, and coercion has come to light from Howrah, West Bengal, where a young woman from North 24 Parganas was held captive for six months and subjected to brutal torture by a man and his mother. The woman, lured with a false job promise, is now battling for her life at Sagor Dutt Medical College and Hospital.
Lured With a Fake Job
The 26-year-old victim was working in an event management company when she was contacted by Aryan Khan, who promised her a better-paying opportunity in Howrah. Trusting him, she agreed — but upon arrival, she was confined to a flat and denied the job. Instead, she was pressured to work as a bar dancer and later threatened into shooting obscene videos.
Torture and Sexual Violence
During her confinement, the woman was subjected to inhumane abuse by Aryan and his mother, Shweta Khan, who also allegedly attempted to insert an iron rod into her private parts. As per her police statement, she suffered broken bones in her hand and lost teeth due to repeated assaults. She was also deprived of food for days at a stretch and lost consciousness several times during beatings.
Narrow Escape and Ongoing Investigation
Last week, the woman managed a daring escape by outsmarting her captors. She is currently in critical condition and undergoing treatment. Based on her detailed statement and the complaint lodged by her family, police raided the residence of the accused, but both Aryan and Shweta had fled.
Authorities have now formed multiple teams to track them down. Initial investigations reveal that the duo operates a firm called Ishaar Production, allegedly a front for a prostitution racket targeting unsuspecting youth under the cover of event management work.
