Ichalkaranji Youth Held, Prime Accused & Accomplices Still at Large Ransom Call Using Stolen Phones
The Anti-Extortion Squad has detained 23-year-old young adult from Ichalkaranji, Kolhapur, for reportedly demanding a ransom of ₹10 lakh from a Talegaon-based woman in a worrying instance of extortion. Respected Kudche Mala resident Parth Kiran Kakde was making threatening calls using stolen SIM cards and mobile phones, therefore disguising his identity. Sunday was the arrest day; police have found two cell phones and three SIM cards thought to have been used in criminal execution.
Pune, April 29, 2025: The story surfaced when a Talegaon woman answered a threatening phone call stating her husband had already been killed—and now her son would also suffer unless she paid ₹10 lakh. This terrible peril naturally caused the family much suffering. A case against unidentified persons was promptly launched at Talegaon MIDC Police Station.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Sandeep Doifode directed an immediate and thorough inquiry considering the degree of the threat and the involvement of several people utilizing untraceable devices. Using cell data analysis and technical surveillance, the Anti-Extortion Squad started looking at the matter.
Breakthrough and Arrest:
Police located one of the mobile devices using call data records and tower location tracking to Parth Kakde, who was soon detained. His questioning turned up evidence of stolen SIM cards and phones used in an effort at extortion, a strategy meant to go under undetectable. During the operation the crew found three SIM cards and two phones.
Claimed Still Missing
Still, the search is far from finished. Still on the run are Rishikesh, also known as Sonu Varale, from Kamgar Chaal in Ichalkaranji, together with three of his unknown allies. Police think this organization meticulously planned the extortion campaign utilizing pilfers of stolen devices to hide their traces.
Research is Still Underway.
Authorities search for the other suspects right now. Raids are under way at Ichalkaranji and other allegedly hiding places. Deputy Commissioner Doifode indicated that more arrests are expected shortly and that surveillance teams are aggressively searching for the absconding suspects.
This case emphasizes the growing use of stolen technology in cyber-enabled crimes and the immediate requirement of digital traceability. It also emphasizes how well swift, technologically advanced police reaction handles such high-stakes threats.
