A dispute in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar’s Mukundwadi area turned deadly when a chicken shop worker attacked three youths with a meat cutter, killing one and seriously injuring two others.
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, June 20, 2025: A horrific act of violence has shaken the Mukundwadi area of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, where a meat shop worker brutally attacked three young men with a meat cutter following a verbal altercation. The incident occurred near the crematorium adjacent to a local chicken shop.
According to police sources, the accused has been identified as Mastan Qureshi, commonly known as ‘Nanna’, who works at a nearby chicken shop. The deceased has been identified as Nitin Sonaji Shankpal, aged 35. His brother Sachin Sonaji Shankpal (32) and their friend Datta Balaji Jadhav were both seriously injured in the attack.
The altercation reportedly stemmed from a minor dispute involving verbal abuse directed at Mastan’s friend. In a shocking reaction, Mastan allegedly picked up a meat-cutting tool (sattur) and attacked the trio, striking them in the head and chest.
Nitin Shankpal died on the spot, while the injured were rushed to a nearby hospital and remain in critical condition.
The police have launched a full investigation and are working on arresting the accused. The incident has created panic and unrest in the otherwise quiet Rajnagar locality, where all the victims resided.
Authorities are appealing to the public to remain calm, and security in the area has been tightened following the attack.
