The decision, rooted in violations of the IT Act, 2000, Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, reflects a commitment to protecting families, women, and young users from harmful online material. By invoking the IT Rules, 2021, the government holds these platforms accountable for failing to remove content that crosses ethical and legal boundaries.
