After India’s massive 336-run win in the second Test, skipper Shubman Gill confirmed Jasprit Bumrah’s return for the Lord’s Test, calling it a dream to lead the team at the iconic venue
LONDON, JULY 6: After a dominating 336-run victory in the second Test match against England, Indian captain Shubman Gill expressed satisfaction with the team’s strong comeback following their loss in the first match.
Gill praised the team’s performance, stating, “We did everything we discussed after the first Test. Our bowling and fielding were outstanding. We knew if we posted 400–500 runs on this kind of pitch, we would take control. The number of dropped catches we had at Headingley won’t happen every time.”
During the post-match interaction, Gill also delivered an exciting update for Indian fans. When asked about the third Test at Lord’s and the availability of star pacer Jasprit Bumrah, Gill confirmed his return.
“Of course, Bumrah will be back at Lord’s. I’m really looking forward to that match. It’s probably the most iconic cricket stadium in the world. Everyone dreams of playing there since childhood. For me, there’s no greater honour than leading my country at Lord’s,” Gill said.
With Bumrah’s comeback and India’s renewed momentum, the stage is set for a highly anticipated third Test at the historic Lord’s Cricket Ground.
