In a major change for air travelers, IndiGo and Akasa Air will suspend all operations at Terminal 2 of Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport starting April 15, 2025. The move is part of planned maintenance and upgrade work at T2, leading to a terminal reshuffle for thousands of passengers.
Delhi Airport Terminal Shift April 2025: What Passengers Need to Know
- IndiGo flights will be redirected to Terminal 1, with a few long-haul or code-share flights operating from Terminal 3.
- Akasa Air will now operate exclusively from Terminal 1D, according to the airline’s latest travel advisory.
- The change is temporary, but in effect until further notice, as per airline officials.
IndiGo, Akasa Begin Passenger Alerts
To avoid confusion during the transition, both airlines have begun notifying travelers via email, SMS, and WhatsApp. IndiGo has also published a revised flight-terminal chart on its official website, allowing flyers to verify updated departure or arrival points.
IndiGo spokesperson: “Delhi Terminal 2 is undergoing maintenance, and all our flights will operate from Terminal 1 from April 15.”
Terminal 1 Reopens with a New Look
Coinciding with the shift, Delhi Airport’s upgraded Terminal 1 is set for a grand reopening on April 15. According to Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), the revamped terminal promises faster check-ins, enhanced security lanes, and modern passenger lounges.
