In Kalyan’s Nandivali area, a receptionist was assaulted by local goon Gokul Jha. Despite disguising himself to escape, Mansainiks caught and handed him over to police. Court hearing today.
Kalyan | July 23, 2025: A shocking incident unfolded in the Nandivali area of Kalyan when Sonali Kalasare, a young woman working as a receptionist at a private hospital, was brutally assaulted by local goon Gokul Jha. The accused, who tried to evade arrest by changing his appearance, was ultimately caught by Mansainiks and handed over to the police.
The attack occurred on Tuesday when Sonali asked Gokul to wait as the doctor was busy. Enraged, Gokul began beating her with kicks and books, an act caught on camera and widely circulated on social media, sparking public outrage.
Identified as a repeat offender, Gokul Jha is known for extorting hawkers in the Nandivali area. Just four days ago, he was released on bail in a case involving assault on a truck driver. He has multiple cases registered against him in Vitthalwadi and Kolsewadi police stations, including charges related to assault and weapon possession.
To avoid detection, Gokul cut his hair, changed clothes, and roamed around the Newali area, believing he would go unnoticed. However, Mansainiks tracked him down and found him fleeing through fields in Vasar village, Kalyan, late Tuesday night. They detained him and handed him over to the authorities.
Police had formed five special teams to search for Gokul, who will now be produced in the Kalyan court on Wednesday morning.
