Over 5 lakh Mahavitaran consumers have joined the Go-Green scheme, choosing e-bills over paper. This eco-friendly move saves paper, reduces costs, and gives users ₹120 annual discount on electricity bills.
Maharashtra| July 03,2025: Mahavitaran’s Go-Green scheme, aimed at encouraging electricity consumers in Maharashtra to switch from paper bills to digital bills, has received an overwhelming response. So far, 5,03,795 customers have joined the initiative, choosing to receive electricity bills through email and SMS rather than printed copies.

According to Mahavitaran, this eco-friendly switch not only supports environmental conservation by saving paper but also offers financial benefits to consumers. Under the scheme, every customer receives a ₹10 monthly discount, totaling ₹120 per year, which is credited as a lump sum in their first bill after opting in.
So far, this initiative has saved ₹6.04 crore for consumers across Maharashtra. Western Maharashtra has shown the highest participation, with over 2.01 lakh consumers, saving ₹2.42 crore in total.
The scheme aims to reduce the use of paper, time, and fuel involved in generating and delivering physical electricity bills. Mahavitaran launched this campaign to promote green energy practices, urging consumers to receive their bills digitally and help protect the environment.

- Mahavitaran website
They simply need their electricity customer number and registered mobile number, select the Go-Green option, and agree to receive bills via email/SMS.
This simple step contributes to environmental protection, reduces paper waste, and gives consumers direct bill discounts.
