MHADA Pune Direct Housing Scheme 2025 | First-Come-First-Serve Home Allotment
MHADA Pune launches a first-come-first-serve scheme for unsold flats. Eligible applicants can now directly purchase homes without lottery. Apply from April 10, 2025.
Pune, April 11, 2025 — In a major push toward accessible home ownership, the Pune division of the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) has rolled out a new direct housing allocation scheme. The initiative allows eligible first-time applicants to purchase unsold MHADA homes on a first-come-first-serve basis—bypassing the traditional lottery method.
The scheme is open to applicants from the general category who fulfill the income and documentation criteria and have never been allotted a MHADA home in the past. Available homes under this scheme are part of the inventory left unsold from the 15% Social Housing Scheme and the 20% Inclusive Housing Scheme.
Key Features of the Scheme:
- Application Start Date: April 10, 2025
- Platform: MHADA’s official online portal
- Allotment Method: First-come-first-serve (for fully completed applications)
- Eligibility: First-time MHADA applicants meeting income and document norms
- Transparency: Live updates on home availability through the portal
A senior MHADA official explained the significance of this shift, stating, “The direct allocation model offers a fair and efficient alternative to the lottery system. We are committed to a process that is simple, transparent, and accessible to all qualified applicants.”
With urban housing demand continuously outstripping supply, especially in rapidly growing cities like Pune, this initiative arrives as a timely relief for eligible families looking for affordable homeownership solutions.
