A minor-driven car killed 18-year-old student Pragya Kamble and injured three girls in Kolhapur. Public outrage has erupted over the tragic accident, prompting police action and widespread condemnation.
Kolhapur | 25 July, 2025: A tragic and shocking accident occurred on the Radhanagari-Kolhapur road on Thursday afternoon, where a speeding four-wheeler driven by a minor boy rammed into college girls waiting at a bus stop in Kurukli village. The accident claimed the life of 18-year-old Pragya Dashrath Kamble, a student from Kaulav village, and left three other girls seriously injured.
The incident unfolded around 1:30 pm when the girls were returning home from college. According to eyewitnesses, the car, moving at high speed, crashed directly into the group of students. In a horrifying turn, Pragya got trapped under the car’s wheels and was dragged nearly 100 meters, leading to her death on the spot.
Quickly reacting, nearby teachers and students chased down the vehicle and managed to stop it. Police later detained the minor driver and his accomplice. The incident has triggered widespread anger in the region, with locals demanding strict action and expressing outrage over the growing trend of underage driving and dangerous stunts.
Authorities are now investigating the case further, while calls for stricter enforcement of traffic and juvenile laws are growing louder.
