Union Minister Narayan Rane rebuked son Nitesh for calling CM Fadnavis “everyone’s father.” Fadnavis termed the remark inappropriate; party leadership addressed the issue to maintain decorum and unity.
Mumbai | June 12, 2025: Political sparks flew after BJP MLA Nitesh Rane stirred controversy by calling the Chief Minister “everyone’s father” in a speech that quickly went viral. The comment was widely interpreted as a jab or a show of dominance, leading to backlash within the party and prompting intervention from none other than Narayan Rane, his father and Union Minister.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, responding to the remarks, calmly stated, “The Chief Minister is not anyone’s father. Such statements are inappropriate.” He further confirmed that he had spoken to the concerned ministers and that they acknowledged the misstep.
Following this, Narayan Rane himself publicly expressed disapproval of his son’s comment. “It is wrong to make such statements. I’ve spoken to him and advised him against speaking in that tone,” Rane said, making it clear that political discipline and respect within the party structure must be maintained.
The Chief Minister holds the top administrative post in the state, and party insiders say that Nitesh’s comment, although possibly intended as political chest-thumping, was seen as damaging to the decorum expected within the BJP leadership.
With the state gearing up for future political battles, leaders are now more cautious about maintaining unity and public image. The Rane family episode serves as a reminder that even within powerful political dynasties, public statements can have far-reaching consequences.
