In Navi Mumbai’s Vashi, a man was murdered over a rejected marriage proposal. The accused hid the body and dumped evidence in a creek. Police are investigating and plan swift arrest.
Mumbai | July 23, 2025: A deeply disturbing incident has emerged from Vashi in Navi Mumbai, where a 25-year-old woman’s husband was murdered allegedly by a man furious over her refusal to marry him. The Vashi police have registered a case of murder and destruction of evidence in this shocking crime.
The complainant, Fatima Abubakar Mandal (25), a domestic worker residing in a slum near Kerala House, had filed a missing person report after her husband, Abubakar Suhadali Mandal (35), failed to return home from work. Despite extensive searches, he could not be located.
During the investigation, police uncovered a grim truth: Aminur Ali Ahmed Ali Maulla (21), the accused, had persistently pressured Fatima to marry him. After repeated refusals, he allegedly killed her husband in a fit of rage.
To cover up the crime, Aminur is suspected to have hidden the body at an undisclosed location and discarded the victim’s clothes and belongings into a nearby creek near the underpass road on the Panvel-Sion highway, attempting to eliminate evidence.
Following this lead, police officers, forensic teams, and senior officials rushed to the area and intensified the investigation.
Police Response:
Police Sub-Inspector Babasaheb Sangle stated, “As per the complaint, a serious crime has taken place. The motive appears to be linked to rejection of a marriage proposal. All angles are being probed, and the accused will be arrested soon.”
Senior Inspector Sanjay Dhumal is supervising the investigation, and senior officers have reviewed the site to expedite progress.
The case has sent shockwaves through the Vashi community, highlighting the dangerous consequences of obsession and possessiveness escalating into violence.
