Charity Guidelines Ignored: Health Dept Report Slams Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital in Pregnant Woman’s Death
Pune – Serious questions are being raised over the delay in filing an FIR against Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital, even after a five-member inquiry committee confirmed that the hospital demanded a deposit from a patient — a clear violation of the rules governing charitable hospitals.
The committee has already submitted its report to both the Charity Commissioner’s office and the Police Commissioner’s office. However, no FIR has been registered against Dr. Sushrut Ghaisas, the doctor who asked for Rs 10 lakh Deposit in this case. The police are reportedly awaiting the Medical Board’s report, leading to further delays in the case.
Meanwhile, the Charity Commissioner has not taken any action, nor has there been any review of past cases where deposits were allegedly collected. Adding to the concern, citizens are questioning the Pune Municipal Corporation’s (PMC) inaction regarding the hospital’s pending property tax dues.
The lack of timely response and lackadaisical approach by all responsible authorities is drawing widespread public criticism, with increasing demands for accountability and immediate action.
