Pune | May 16, 2025: India offers a new notion which restyles museums as living lessons in values and wisdom as the world pauses to consider the significance of cultural preservation this International Museum Day rather than as places of artifacts only. Under the Amar Prerna Trust, industrialist Dr. Abhay Firodia led the development over a massive 50 acres and over 3.5 lakh square feet, thereby positioning it as one of the largest private museums in the world. Nevertheless, its very nature is spirit not size.
“Indian strength lies in values,” Dr. Firodia said. “We wanted to create a space where these values are not merely demonstrated but felt deeply—a convergence of knowledge, beauty, and spirituality that leaves a lasting impression on everyone who comes here.”
Consisting of thirty experiential galleries, all offering a fascinating examination of India’s philosophical heritage such as non-violence, compassion, entrepreneurship, pluralism, introspection, and sacrifice, the museum is located around
Blending sculpture, narrative, digital art, dioramas, soundscapes, and interactive technology, the museum brings visitors into a reflective and close encounter.
Besides the exhibits, symbolism and architecture of the museums also have great roles to play. Whereas the 43-foot India’s first Tirthankara monument of Tirthankara Rishabhdev manifests as a symbol of restraint and inner tranquility, a 100-foot Manastambha reaches spiritual heights. Whereas the Plaza of Equanimity, where the “Sarvathobhadra” statue is the centerpiece for an expansive view of peace and meditation, stretches at the center of the estate.
Abhay Prabhavana encourages mental exchange too. Keeping India’s rich tradition of enquiry and research alive, institutions such as the Kudanmal Firodia Hall and Taxila Library are hive hives of activity, learning, argument, and lectures.
From warehouses of the past to platforms for society discussion, Abhay Prabhavana is a bold step into this new millennium because museums are not just a matter of artefact preservation but also living ideals and sparking imaginations.
