Never Alone: Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Launch Special App for Senior Citizens Living Solo
Pimpri-Chinchwad Police have launched the ‘Jeshthanubandh’ helpline, a 24/7 service dedicated to supporting senior citizens living alone or in distress. Initiated by Police Commissioner Vinay Kumar Choubey, the helpline offers immediate assistance and aims to enhance the safety and well-being of the elderly community.

Pune, April 17, 2025 – In a heartwarming initiative to support elderly residents, the Pimpri-Chinchwad police have introduced a dedicated mobile app to ensure swift assistance for senior citizens living alone. With more elders finding themselves isolated as their children relocate for work, the app aims to bridge the gap between urgent needs and timely help—all at the click of a button.
Spearheaded by Police Commissioner Vinoy Kumar Choubey and developed with the help of Deputy Commissioner Dr. Shivaji Pawar and a local private university, the app is a tech-driven upgrade from the conventional Senior Citizen Cell. Instead of relying on phone calls and manual record-keeping, police will now proactively visit seniors to register and update their personal and medical details.
How the App Works?
During emergencies, when a senior citizen calls the police control room, their dashboard instantly displays their profile—complete with medical history, location, and even a photograph. This allows officers to assess the situation quickly and provide tailored assistance. The app also includes:
– One-touch emergency help – Direct access to police, hospitals, and pharmacies.
– Personalized care– A “favourite” feature lets users save preferred doctors and hospitals for faster response.
– Government scheme guidance – Information on welfare programs and how to avail them.
– Fraud prevention – Reducing risks of cyber scams by providing verified contacts.
Why This Matters
From chronic conditions like diabetes and hypertension to mobility issues like arthritis, the app records critical health data so responders are prepared. Whether it’s arranging medicines, contacting a doctor, or just offering support, Pimpri-Chinchwad’s police are stepping in as guardians for the elderly.
In a world where busy lives leave little room for ageing parents, this initiative brings hope that no senior citizen has to face struggles alone.
