PMP starts ‘Roaming Pass Centers’ at six locations in Pune to provide easy monthly pass access. Citizens can use digital or cash payments, saving time and improving commuter convenience.
Pune | August 7, 2025: In a citizen-friendly move, Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal (PMP) has launched the ‘Roaming Pass Center’ initiative to make monthly bus passes more accessible to students, senior citizens, and general commuters within their localities.
The service was officially inaugurated by PMP Chairman and Managing Director Pankaj Deore. These mobile centers will operate from 7:30 am to 1:30 pm, Monday to Saturday, at six key locations across Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad, and PMRDA regions. The aim is to save citizens from the hassle of visiting the central PMP offices, thus reducing both time and travel costs.
Commuters can now buy monthly passes using QR codes, POS machines, or cash. Additionally, these centers will provide details about PMP’s subsidized schemes and services such as Pune Darshan, Pune Tourism Bus, Apli PMPML Mobile App, Women’s Special Buses, and Night Bus Services.
This move is part of PMP’s ongoing effort to expand services in line with Pune’s growing population. Officials have indicated plans to further increase the number of roaming centers soon.
Weekly Schedule of Roaming Pass Centers:
- Monday – SNDT College (Metro Station)
- Tuesday – Kondhwa Gate (NDA Gate Circle)
- Wednesday – Khadi Machine Chowk (K. J. & J. K. College)
- Thursday – Radha Chowk (Baner-Balewadi)
- Friday – Hinjewadi Village (Shivaji Chowk)
- Saturday – Akurdi Railway Station
The initiative has received positive feedback from citizens and is seen as a step towards more inclusive, accessible public transport services.
