Two police informants and a horrific narcotics frame-up by Chakan police revealed against a businessman over a land dispute. Three arrests resulted from the phoney tip-off and synthetic substances.

Pune | May 16, 2025: Dramatically turning straight out of a crime novel, Chakan police have discovered an astonishing scheme to falsely accuse a businessman in a narcotics case—masterminded not by a criminal foreigner but by a reliable police informant herself.
Police informer Wasim Hanif Shaikh, Rahul Balasaheb Tope, and Nikhil Maruti Kad among the apprehended accused Unknowingly caught in a trap over a business dispute, Tushar Malibhau Kad of Medankarwadi was the target of their conspiracy.
Deputy Police Commissioner Dr. Shivaji Pawar claims that on April 23 Shaikh tipped police about mephedrone (MD) drugs purportedly discovered in a car parked close to the Grand Hotel. Based on this information, authorities raided the car and Tushar Kad was detained upon drugs discovered within.
It looked at first like a standard drug bust. But the narrative started to show flaws as investigations progressed and Tushar was under jail. Examining more closely technical data, investigators found that the whole scenario had been planned.
Together with Nikhil Kad and Rahul Tope, Tushar Kad have participated in projects involving village development and land purchase. But the commercial alliance became sour as their financial differences surfaced. Nikhil and Rahul allegedly worked with police informer Wasim Shaikh and another partner, Hanif Mujawar, to remove Tushar from the company in an unsettling manner.
Their strategy was to Plant mephedrone in Tushar’s automobile, tip off the cops using Shaikh’s informer position, and send him to jail—so seizing control of the company directly.
The truth was exposed thanks to the keen follow-up inquiry and digital and technical record validation by the Chakan police. After falsely framing an innocent man and abusing the police system, Wasim Shaikh, Rahul Tope, and Nikhil Kad have all been arrested and are now facing major accusations.
