Pune, June 25, 2025 – A disturbing incident has shaken Pune, as a woman police officer bravely filed a molestation complaint against Pramod Kondhare, a prominent city general secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The alleged incident unfolded on Tuesday morning around 10:30 am near a hotel by Shivaji Road, during a visit by Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari to inspect an underpass project at Shanivarwada. As rain prompted BJP workers, including Kondhare, to seek shelter at a nearby tea stall, the officer reported that Kondhare deliberately stood behind her and engaged in inappropriate behavior that caused her deep distress.
The officer’s complaint, lodged at Faraskhana Police Station, has ignited widespread concern in the city. Kondhare, who has faced prior allegations, issued a statement claiming the incident stemmed from a misunderstanding and submitted a written explanation to the police, denying any wrongdoing. Senior Police Inspector Prashant Bhasme is leading the investigation, with authorities remaining tight-lipped about further actions. The incident, occurring amidst a high-profile ministerial visit, has left the community grappling with questions about accountability and safety, as Pune awaits justice for the officer’s courageous stand.
