Pune| 01 August, 2025: Pune’s rural communities are breathing a sigh of relief as the local police force delivers justice with remarkable speed, solving two sexual assault cases and dismantling a robbery gang within just 24 hours. On August 1, 2025, the Pune Rural Police showcased their dedication to safety, bringing closure to victims and sending a clear warning to criminals across the region.
In the first assault case, a woman from Javhan No. 3 village was attacked by a motorbike rider while walking alone near Khadakmewande on July 15. Using the victim’s description and local leads, police swiftly identified and arrested a 35-year-old man from the same village. He confessed to the crime and is now in judicial custody, offering the victim a sense of justice and security.
The second assault occurred on July 25 near Narayan Dham Road in Lonavala, where a woman was kidnapped in a car and taken to a secluded spot. Police tracked down the lone perpetrator, a café owner from Tungarli, and arrested him promptly. His detention has brought comfort to the victim and reassurance to Lonavala residents shaken by the incident.
In a separate case, a daring robbery in Boribel village, Daund, on June 11 saw five men steal gold, silver, and cash worth ₹3.52 lakh at knifepoint. Acting on a tip, police apprehended three members of the gang and recovered stolen items valued at ₹71,120. The suspects revealed their accomplices, linking the group to 19 robberies across Pune, Solapur, Satara, Sambhajinagar, and beyond. This breakthrough has disrupted a major criminal network, protecting countless families from further harm.
The operations, guided by senior officers from Pune and Baramati divisions, reflect the police force’s commitment to keeping rural areas safe. For residents, these arrests mean more than just solved cases—they restore faith in a system that acts quickly to protect its people. The woman walking home, the family robbed in their own house, and entire communities now feel a renewed sense of security.
The rapid response has also sent a powerful message: crime in Pune’s rural heartlands will not go unpunished. As families in villages like Javhan, Lonavala, and Daund go about their lives, they do so with the knowledge that their police force is vigilant and ready to act. This 24-hour triumph underscores the strength and resolve of Pune Rural Police in safeguarding their communities.
