Air India pauses Pune-Singapore flights until mid-July as part of operational adjustments. The temporary suspension aims to improve reliability while affected passengers must seek alternative routes.
Pune travelers planning trips to Singapore will need to adjust their itineraries as Air India has temporarily suspended its direct flight service between the two cities until mid-July. The route, originally launched by Vistara in December 2022 before its merger with Air India, offered four weekly flights using Airbus A321 aircraft, with departures from Pune at 2:10 AM IST and arrivals in Singapore at 10:30 AM local time.
The suspension comes as part of Air India’s broader strategy to optimize its network and improve operational reliability. While accounting for less than 5% of the airline’s total schedule, this temporary halt reflects a cautious approach following recent industry challenges, including heightened scrutiny after the Ahmedabad runway incident. Air India emphasized that the decision aims to enhance punctuality and reduce last-minute cancellations across its operations.
Passengers affected by the suspension will need to explore alternative connections through other hubs. The airline has assured travelers that this is a temporary measure, with services expected to resume after July 15 pending operational reviews. Industry observers note that such route adjustments are common as airlines periodically reassess their networks to maintain efficiency and safety standards.
