Four temples and a home in Raisoni Nagar were robbed by the ‘Chaddi Gang’ at night. Armed and masked, the gang stole silver, idols, and money, sparking fear and police investigation.

Nagpur | August 5, 2025: A series of four shocking thefts around 2:30 am in the Raisoni Nagar area of Nagpur have left residents in fear. Two temples and a private home were targeted in what appears to be a coordinated operation by the infamous ‘Chaddi Gang’.

In a brazen act, the thieves stole silver sandals weighing around 700 grams, a one-and-a-half-foot-tall metal idol of Lord Ganesha, and an undisclosed amount of money from the donation box at Shri Gajanan Maharaj Temple. Another nearby temple was also looted, while in the third temple, finding nothing valuable, the culprits left with a pen drive. A private house whose owner was out of town was also broken into on the same night.

CCTV footage revealed that the four thieves were minimally dressed — wearing only shorts and covering their faces with handkerchiefs or masks. They were armed with choppers, knives, and swords. One thief was seen holding slippers in hand while another had them tied around his waist. The visuals confirm their entry, the act of theft, and their escape route.

Police suspect that the accused might be from outside the state. Authorities have launched a detailed investigation based on the CCTV footage and the pattern of thefts. Locals are demanding heightened security in the area.
