Pune | 07 June,2025: The ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict has sharply escalated, sparking global fears of a possible World War III. On Saturday, Russia launched a series of devastating attacks on Ukrainian cities, including the capital Kyiv, following an alleged Ukrainian strike on Russian soil.
Russian President Vladimir Putin accused Ukraine of attacking Russia, which triggered a forceful response. In Saturday’s retaliatory strike, Russian forces deployed drones, cruise missiles, and fighter jets across multiple Ukrainian regions. Ukrainian officials reported that over three drone strikes and multiple missile attacks struck Kyiv, Chernihiv, Lutsk, and Ternopil, leaving six dead and several injured.
Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned the attacks, stating, “Sirens continue to wail in Kyiv. The international community’s silence is helping Putin. There is no global unity; we need stronger action to stop this aggression.”
Zelensky urged the world to increase pressure on Russia to restore peace and prevent further escalation. He warned that Russia’s vast arsenal and unchecked attacks could spiral the conflict into a broader global war.
Meanwhile, Russia defended its actions, calling the strikes a response to Ukraine’s alleged terrorist activities. Moscow claimed to have launched coordinated assaults by land, sea, and air, targeting what it described as military infrastructure.
The latest developments underscore the deepening crisis and raise fresh concerns among global leaders about the risk of wider conflict if diplomatic efforts fail to intervene.
