Located just 1.5 km from a major transit hub, this vital gateway is marred by heaps of waste, a foul stench, and stray animals rummaging through the mess, creating a health hazard for pedestrians and two-wheeler riders. The situation, worsened by years of neglect, has left the community frustrated and desperate for lasting solutions.
Each morning, the city’s cleanliness team arrives by 9 or 10 am to tackle the garbage, but their efforts are often superficial, leaving behind scattered waste and lingering odors. Stray dogs and cattle exacerbate the issue, dragging debris onto roads and making the area not just unpleasant but dangerous. During the monsoon, stagnant puddles at the entrance become breeding grounds for mosquitoes, heightening the risk of diseases like dengue.
