The Santosh Deshmukh murder case will be heard on August 4. Valmik Karad’s discharge plea was rejected. Ujjwal Nikam demanded a speedy verdict, while Bala Bangar alleged witness murders in a linked case.
Pune | 22 July, 2025: The next hearing in the high-profile Santosh Deshmukh murder case is scheduled for August 4, but legal delays are looming as all accused have filed discharge applications, raising concerns over deliberate stalling of proceedings.
In a significant development, the court has rejected the discharge plea of accused Valmik Karad, signaling a firm stand against attempts to derail the trial. Renowned public prosecutor Advocate Ujjwal Nikam is representing the government in the case. He has strongly argued that the sequential filing of discharge applications is causing unnecessary delays and wasting the court’s time. The prosecution has demanded that the verdict be expedited in the interest of justice.
In a related twist, Vijaysingh alias Bala Bangar has made a shocking allegation that the eyewitness in the Mahadev Munde murder case was also killed. He further claimed that Valmik Karad and his son were involved in that case as well, and alleged that Karad’s gang is targeting individuals who come forward with information in the Munde murder case.
The allegations, if substantiated, could widen the scope of the investigation and bring additional charges against the accused. The upcoming hearing on August 4 is likely to be crucial for both cases, as the court now closely monitors the emerging patterns and serious accusations.
