Mumbai | July 9, 2025: Amid the ongoing monsoon session, a disturbing incident has surfaced from the MLA residence at Akashvani, Mumbai, where Shinde Sena MLA Sanjay Gaikwad was caught on video assaulting a canteen driver over poor quality food.
The video, now viral on social media, shows Gaikwad and his associates confronting and brutally thrashing the canteen driver, allegedly because the dal served in room number 107 was of poor quality. Gaikwad claimed the food was so bad that he felt nauseous after consuming it.
According to reports, the MLA staged a protest inside the canteen, blaming the kitchen staff for neglect and poor hygiene. The protest soon turned violent. The MLA and others were seen beating the driver instead of escalating the complaint to the authorities.
This incident has sparked outrage online and raised serious questions about the misuse of power by elected representatives. Political opponents have demanded immediate action and an official inquiry into the matter.
There is no official statement yet from the Shinde Sena leadership or the canteen management. The canteen staff reportedly remain shaken, and calls for police intervention are being raised.
