In Solapur, BJP MLA Gopichand Padalkar’s worker was kidnapped in a revenge attack. Seven people, including key accused Amit Suravase, have been booked for kidnapping and attempted murder.
Solapur | August 8, 2025: A shocking case of kidnapping and attempted murder has surfaced in Solapur involving a close aide of BJP MLA Gopichand Padalkar. The victim, identified as Sharanu Hande, was allegedly kidnapped and attacked by a group led by Amit Suravase, reportedly in revenge for a past altercation.
According to police sources, the incident is linked to an ongoing rivalry between the accused and the victim. In 2021, Amit Suravase had attacked the vehicle of MLA Padalkar, which later led to a retaliatory assault on Suravase by Sharanu Hande a few months ago. The current kidnapping is believed to have been executed as an act of revenge for that beating.
Sharanu Hande was reportedly abducted and targeted with an intent to kill, but the police swiftly acted and have since arrested Amit Suravase and his accomplices. A case has been registered under charges of kidnapping with intent to murder against seven accused at the MIDC Police Station in Solapur.
The incident has triggered political ripples in the region and raised concerns over the rising trend of politically-motivated violence. Police have assured that a thorough investigation is underway, and strict action will be taken against those found guilty.
