Speeding Mercedes crashes on Palm Beach Road; two youths seriously injured. Locals rescue them. Nerul police register case against driver.
Navi Mumbai | July 29, 2025: A late-night joyride turned nearly fatal when a speeding Mercedes lost control and crashed on Palm Beach Road near Kolantya Khat around 2 AM on Monday. Two friends—Salman Sheikh (20) and Sufian Sheikh (19)—were seriously injured in the accident.
According to police reports, Salman Sheikh, a Seawood resident, was driving his father’s Mercedes toward Vashi with his friend Sufian when the vehicle lost control near the Jewels of Navi Mumbai stretch. The car veered off its lane, crossed over to the opposite Belapur-bound lane, and slammed into a roadside barricade.
Eyewitnesses say the crash was so severe that both youths were trapped inside. Fortunately, there were no other vehicles on either side of the road at the time, preventing a major tragedy. Local residents rushed to the spot, pulled the injured duo out of the mangled vehicle, and took them to the hospital.
Both Salman and Sufian are undergoing treatment for serious injuries. The Nerul police have registered a case against the driver for speeding and reckless driving.
