Union Minister Mohol confers award on Indurikar Maharaj at Progressive Education Society’s 92nd anniversary event honoring founder Kanitkar
Pune, April 16, 2025 – In a thought-provoking address during an award ceremony organized by the Progressive Education Society, senior kirtankar Nivrutti Maharaj Deshmukh Indurikar emphasized the critical role of spiritual education in shaping young minds. The event, held in memory of the society’s founder Shankarrao Kanitkar, saw Union Minister of State Muralidhar Mohol honor Indurikar Maharaj with a prestigious award. “For 92 years, this institution has championed quality education while recognizing societal contributors – this award continues that glorious tradition,” Mohol remarked, highlighting the organization’s enduring legacy.
Savitribai Phule Pune University Vice-Chancellor Dr. Parag Kalkar and society Working President Dr. Gajanan Ekbote graced the occasion, with Dr. Ekbote noting, “For 34 consecutive years, this award has paid tribute to Guruvarya Kanitkar’s vision by honoring those furthering educational excellence.”
The ceremony featured poignant moments: Swati Patwardhan’s heartfelt eulogy, Dr. Jyotsnayak Gote’s insightful introduction, and Vaijayanti Jadhav’s reading of the honor citation.
