Pune | May 14, 2025: What began as a personal relationship between two young individuals ended in an unspeakable tragedy that has left Sudhagad’s Parli village in shock and mourning. On the evening of May 13, a young nurse working at Rajesh Polyclinic and Nursing Home was brutally murdered by her partner in a violent act that ended with him taking his own life.
The deceased, was a resident of Desaipada, had reportedly been in a relationship with Shekhar Santosh Dudhane, who lived in nearby Dudhaneewadi. Police believe a dispute erupted between them inside the hospital premises on Tuesday. What should have ended in a conversation spiraled into horror – Shekhar allegedly attacked his wife with a sharp hatchet, repeatedly striking her from neck to torso. She died on the spot.
Shekhar, who seemed to have been shocked by the act, is said to have hanged himself nearby. Deceased’s corpse was found in a bloodbath when the police arrived at the scene, and the body of Shekhar was found hanging nearby. Both were taken immediately for post-mortem examination.
The case is currently under investigation by Pali Police, who suspect the root cause to be a falling-out in their relationship. The sheer brutality of the incident has left residents shaken — especially those who knew the couple as two ordinary young people trying to make their way in life.
This tragedy serves as a grim reminder of the emotional turbulence hidden behind closed doors. Love, if wrapped in silence and unresolved emotions, can sometimes end in disaster. Beyond justice and investigation, what’s truly needed is awareness – of mental health, relationship counseling, and conflict de-escalation. This was not just a crime scene – it was a cry that no one heard in time.
