A woman’s electrocution death in Wanjola sparks suspicion. Her maternal family alleges foul play, leading to emotional conflict and symbolic cremation by in-laws. Police have launched further investigation.

Wanjola (Bhusawal) | July 26, 2025 — A tragic and emotionally charged incident unfolded in Wanjola village near Bhusawal after 25-year-old Dipali Chetan Tayde died from an electric shock while filling water at her home. However, what initially appeared to be an accidental death has now taken a dramatic turn, as the deceased’s maternal family alleges foul play and blames her in-laws for her untimely demise.

The incident occurred on Friday morning when Dipali, who hails from Bhadli village in Jalgaon taluka, attempted to remove the motor pin due to a power outage while drawing water. At that very moment, the power supply resumed, and she received a strong electric shock, collapsing immediately. She was rushed to a private hospital in Bhusawal but was declared dead upon arrival.

Following the incident, the police conducted a panchnama and sent the body for post-mortem to the rural hospital. However, tensions erupted between the two families. Dipali’s maternal relatives alleged that her death was not accidental and demanded legal action against her in-laws. A brief confrontation broke out at the hospital, but the police intervened and managed to calm both sides.

Initially, the in-laws began funeral preparations in Wanjola. However, Dipali’s maternal family took custody of the body and cremated her in their native village of Bhadli. In response, the in-laws held a symbolic cremation using a dough-made effigy adorned with Dipali’s photo — an emotional scene that left villagers in tears.

Police have registered a case of accidental death but are investigating further based on the family’s allegations.
