Shahapur | August 09, 2025: A festive outing ahead of Raksha Bandhan turned into a nightmare when a Swift car carrying three friends lost control and overturned at a sharp bend near Vehloli village on the Shahapur–Dolkhamb road. The impact left one person seriously injured and two others with minor injuries.
According to local sources, the friends were traveling from Dolkhamb when the vehicle veered off the road at the curve and flipped. Passersby alerted the lifeguard team, who arrived promptly at the scene, provided first aid, and arranged for immediate transportation of the injured to Crystalcare Hospital in Jijau, Shahapur.
Doctors have confirmed that while two victims sustained only minor injuries, the third is undergoing intensive treatment for severe trauma. The quick intervention by rescuers is being credited with preventing further casualties.
Police have registered the incident and are investigating whether speeding or road conditions contributed to the crash. Authorities are urging motorists to drive cautiously, especially on winding roads prone to accidents.
