Pune | May 21, 2025 : Pune was in tense state after unidentified assailant opened fire on Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) Yuva Sena district chairman Nilesh Ghare’s car. Ghare had gone to his Office after parking his car in the Warje Malwadi area. Though no injuries have been reported, the sudden act of violence has worried political circles as well as civilians.
The firing in a rather prominent part of the city raises important questions about Pune’s law and order situation. Given that this is the second firing incidence in the city within two days, speculations over whether the city is experiencing a fresh spike of gun crime are spreading.
Based on what he said, two unidentified persons have been named targets of police inquiry. While investigations are under way, authorities review CCTV material and ask neighborhood witnesses to identify the criminals.
The political sphere has reacted fiercely in response to the incident in meanwhile. Many people are wondering whether Ghare was meant to be frightened or whether the incident fit a larger political plan.
