Prahar activists blocked Amravati highway toll plaza, burning tires and halting traffic, demanding action on Bachchu Kadu’s hunger strike. Kadu’s health deteriorated on day four of his protest.
Amravati | June 12, 2025: The agitation led by Prahar Janshakti Party has taken a tense turn today as its activists blocked the highway at Amravati’s toll plaza, causing massive traffic jams. Angry protestors burned tires and raised slogans, demanding immediate government action on the issues raised by their leader Bachchu Kadu, who has been on a hunger strike for the past five days.
Kadu, a former minister and head of Prahar, is protesting in support of farmers, the disabled, and marginalized groups, pressing for their long-pending demands. However, he has accused the government of showing complete apathy towards the cause. On the fourth day of his fast, his health reportedly deteriorated, further enraging his supporters.
In response, Prahar workers launched a spontaneous and aggressive protest at the toll point, halting traffic from both directions. Long queues of stranded vehicles were visible on the highway, leading to public inconvenience.
The demonstrators have warned that they will continue the protest until the state government addresses Kadu’s demands. The situation remains tense, and police are on high alert at the site to prevent any escalation.
