Mumbai| 26 July, 2025: In a groundbreaking evaluation of advanced driving assistance systems (ADAS), Tesla’s Model 3 and Model X emerged as top performers, outshining Chinese rivals like BYD, Xiaomi, and Huawei in a test conducted by ByteDance’s auto unit Dcar and state broadcaster CCTV. Announced on July 26, 2025, the results showcased Tesla’s ability to navigate complex highway and urban traffic scenarios, passing five out of six high-risk challenges. This achievement, despite restrictions on using local training data due to China’s data export laws, underscores Tesla’s innovative approach to AI-driven, camera-based technology, which contrasts with the lidar-equipped systems of its competitors.
The test, which evaluated 36 electric vehicle models from over 20 brands, gained widespread attention after videos went viral on Chinese social media, capturing public interest in the evolving world of assisted driving.
