While helping his mother at her vada pav stall, 6-year-old Hrishikesh was fatally hit by a speeding bulldozer in Moshi. His sudden death has left the society in shock.
Pune, May 06, 2025: In a heart-wrenching tragedy that unfolded at Raja Shiv Chhatrapati Chowk (popularly known as Godam Chowk) in Moshi, a six-year-old boy was killed after being hit by a speeding bulldozer—right in front of his mother. The mother, who was running a small vada pav stall to support her family, was devastated as her youngest child died on the spot.
The victim, a resident of Moshi and originally from Nagapur in Bond district, had accompanied his mother to the stall like he did every day. All of a sudden, a routine day turned into a nightmare.
Victim had briefly stepped away from the cart to fetch coriander from a nearby vegetable vendor when a bulldozer, allegedly being driven recklessly, ran him over. Locals reported that the bulldozer was moving at a dangerously high speed for a crowded area.
Despite being rushed for help, victim succumbed to his injuries before any treatment could be given. The boy, who was the only son in the family after his three sisters was the only hope of his family. His sudden death has plunged the entire family into unbearable grief. He was cremated in his native village.
The boy’s aunt has filed a police complaint, following which Bhosari MIDC Police registered a case. The driver, Rahul Shriramchandra Yadav (26), a resident of Mohannagar and originally from Uttar Pradesh, has been taken into custody.
Police Sub-Inspector Balaji Jonapalle confirmed the arrest and mentioned that the bulldozer was being operated in an unauthorized or careless manner near a crowded chowk. Locals, now gripped with fear and sorrow, have expressed anger over the lack of traffic control and reckless movement of heavy machinery in residential areas.
As the family mourns the loss of young boy, many are demanding strict regulation of construction vehicles and better safety measures to avoid such tragedies further.
