After 5 years, Tulja Bhavani Temple will resume Bundi laddu prasad from July 25. Devotees can buy 50g pure ghee laddus for Rs. 30 each, marking the Shravan month’s start.

Tuljapur | 25 July, 2025: There’s good news for the devotees of Tulja Bhavani, the revered kuldaivat (ancestral deity) of Maharashtra. After a five-year break due to the Covid pandemic, the distribution of Bundi laddu prasad at the Shri Tulja Bhavani Temple is being resumed — this time on a paid basis.

The prasad distribution will officially begin on July 25, the first day of the holy Shravan month, as announced by the Shri Tulja Bhavani Temple Sansthan. Devotees will now be able to receive the traditional Bundi laddu prasad by paying Rs. 30 per 50-gram laddu.

Before the Covid outbreak, Bundi laddus were a regular part of prasad offered to devotees. However, due to health safety concerns during the pandemic, the practice was suspended and hadn’t resumed until now — even after restrictions were lifted.

To revive the tradition, the temple administration invited tenders, and the contract to prepare and distribute the laddus was awarded to Chitale Bandhu, a renowned sweet manufacturer from Pune.

The inauguration ceremony for the prasad distribution will take place on the morning of July 25 in the presence of Mitra Sanstha Vice President A. Rana Jagjitsinh Patil, District Collector Kirti Kiran Pujar, and other dignitaries.

Notably, the laddus will be made from pure ghee, ensuring both quality and tradition in the offering.

This move has been welcomed warmly by devotees, who have long awaited the revival of this symbolic and sacred offering.
