Uddhav Thackeray fires back at BJP MP Nishikant Dubey’s anti-Marathi remarks, calling him a “Lakdbagga.” He accuses BJP of insulting Marathi pride and playing divisive politics ahead of elections.
Maharashtra | 08 July,2025: BJP MP Nishikant Dubey has stirred controversy with his offensive remarks against the Marathi language and direct challenge to Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray. In response, Thackeray has launched a scathing attack in his signature style, referring to Dubey as a “Lakdbagga”—a term for someone who is neither a full-grown wolf nor a dog. “He doesn’t even deserve that title,” Thackeray quipped.
Thackeray slammed Dubey’s violent rhetoric, quoting his inflammatory statement: “If you have guts, go and kill Urdu, Telugu, and Tamil speakers. Thackeray questioned Dubey’s relevance and asked, “Who even knows this Dubey?” Accusing him of spreading hate and stoking fires, Thackeray labelled him a “coward” and an opportunist thriving on division.
Referring to BJP leader Ashish Shelar’s recent comparison of MNS activists to terrorists in Pahalgam, Uddhav was visibly furious. “Marathi-speaking citizens are compared to terrorists just because they stand up for their language? The real enemies of Marathi are those who make such disgusting comparisons,” he said, asking whether the real terrorists had now joined the BJP.
Thackeray also responded to Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis’ mockery of his and Raj Thackeray’s recent unity event as a “Rudali” (mourning ritual). “The real Rudali is happening within the BJP,” Thackeray countered. “The original BJP is dead—it’s been murdered by its own people.”
Thackeray concluded by criticizing BJP’s divide-and-rule politics, declaring that the tide is turning and that the unity of Marathi voices will not be silenced any longer.
