
A group of youths vandalized vehicles and threatened locals in Taljai Vasahat on May 26. Four were arrested after a complaint. Police are investigating their background and possible criminal links.

Pune| May 29, 2025 : Fear erupted in the Taljai Vasahat area on the evening of May 26, when a group of youthful men armed with bamboo sticks and munitions defaced situated vehicles and cried hanging taglines. The group reportedly placarded, “ We’re Bhai of Taljai, ” and tried to blackjack locals.
Deepak Kuchekar (43), a resident of Mahatma Gandhi Society in Taljai Mata Vasahat, lodged a complaint at Sahakar Police Station, leading to the registration of an FIR against five individuals. The accused have been identified as:
Yash Anil Dede (18)
Omkar Shivaji Randive (20)
Prathamesh alias Ashish Dede (19)
Kedar Sachin Chavan (19)
A minor (identity withheld)
The accused allegedly damaged four vehicles, including the complainant’s rickshaw. When Kuchekar intervened, one of the youths reportedly charged at him with a weapon and issued direct threats.
The Sahakar Police have arrested four of the accused, and investigations are ongoing to determine the motive behind the vandalism and potential links to other incidents. Authorities are also examining if the group has prior criminal records or affiliations.
This act of group violence and public intimidation has raised safety concerns among local residents. Police have increased patrolling in the area and assured strict action against those disrupting peace and order.
