Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar | August 7, 2025: Shiv Sena leader and former MLA Harshvardhan Jadhav has been convicted by the district court for assaulting a police officer during a 2014 political event in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. The court has sentenced him to one year in jail.

The incident dates back to a 2014 meeting held at Hotel Pride during a visit by Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray. Harshvardhan Jadhav, who had arrived for the meeting, was reportedly denied entry by Police Inspector Parag Jadhav due to security protocols. An enraged Harshvardhan allegedly slapped the inspector on the ear, creating a commotion at the scene.

A case was filed at Sonegaon Police Station under charges of assault and obstruction of government work. An arrest warrant was issued, and Jadhav was taken into custody upon appearing before the court on February 17. He was later released on bail.

In today’s verdict, the court found Jadhav guilty and sentenced him to one year in prison. However, he retains the right to challenge the decision in a higher court.

Notably, Harshvardhan Jadhav is the former son-in-law of BJP leader Raosaheb Danve and a former MLA from the Kannada constituency, which he won as an MNS candidate.

In court proceedings, the government was represented by Adv. Charushila Paunikar, while Adv. Prakash Jaiswal appeared for Harshvardhan Jadhav.
