Pune, 31 May 2025: In a shocking incident at Thailand’s famous Tiger Kingdom in Phuket, an Indian tourist was attacked by a tiger while attempting to take a selfie with the animal. The frightening moment was captured on camera, and the video has since gone viral on social media platform X, amassing over two million views.
The 25-second clip shows the man walking close to the tiger and crouching down for a photograph. A coach standing hard can be seen trying to control the Tiger with a stick. still, the Tiger suddenly turns aggressive and pounces on the man, leading to chaos and riots from the background.
Social media users reacted with concern, questioning the safety protocols at such tourist attractions. Many demanded stricter rules and better protection for both visitors and animals. “Is the man okay?” asked several users in the comments. The user who shared the video replied that the man survived the attack with only minor injuries.
This incident has reignited debates around the ethics and safety of wildlife tourism, especially at facilities where direct interaction with dangerous animals is permitted.
This is not the first such case. In a similar incident in the United States, a woman was nearly bitten by a Bengal tiger after she climbed over a safety barrier at the Cohanzick Zoo in New Jersey. According to police, she was provoking the tiger by sticking her fingers through the enclosure fence.
Experts continue to warn that wild animals, no matter how domesticated they appear, can act unpredictably — and such encounters can turn dangerous within seconds.
