Akola | August 6, 2025: A heart-wrenching incident has surfaced from Akola district, where 33-year-old Sanghpal Khandare, a resident of Shankarnagar under Akot File Police Station, ended his life following alleged harassment by his wife’s relatives. Sanghpal had married Shabnam Fatima in an interfaith marriage seven years ago. The couple also has a six-year-old daughter. However, the relationship had been strained in recent times, reportedly leading to frequent disputes.

Before taking the extreme step, Sanghpal recorded a video message and sent it to his elder brother, alleging that Shabnam’s relatives had beaten and threatened him. In the video, he named Shabnam, her brother, her mother, and other relatives, holding them responsible for his mental distress and eventual decision to end his life. He also revealed that he was forced to take a loan of ₹3 lakh recently under pressure from his wife.
The incident occurred after Sanghpal was allegedly assaulted on Monday night near Payal Electronics in Akola. He claimed that the incident was captured on CCTV cameras and demanded that the footage be examined.
Body Found on Railway Tracks
Hours after the altercation, Sanghpal’s lifeless body was found on the Akola-Amravati railway line near Paras village in Balapur taluka. The Akola Railway Police have launched an investigation based on the viral video and other evidence collected from the scene.
This tragic case has sparked outrage and shock across the region. Authorities are now under pressure to ensure a thorough and unbiased probe into the incident.
