MNS leader Sandeep Deshpande alleges BMC’s ₹6,000 crore waste management tender favors BJP-linked firms. He demands SIT and EOW probes, citing political-business collusion and calling for top-level accountability.
Mumbai | July 24,2025: –Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) leader Sandeep Deshpande has leveled serious allegations of corruption in the ₹6,000 crore solid waste management tender process of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). In a sensational charge, he claimed that the process was rigged to benefit companies linked to BJP leaders, demanding a probe by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) and the Economic Offences Wing (EOW).
Speaking to the media, Deshpande alleged that the tender terms were custom-made to favor a specific company allegedly connected to a Rajya Sabha MP from Gujarat, whose son, Sunny Pandya, is reportedly a regular visitor to BMC offices. “This isn’t a coincidence — it’s collusion,” Deshpande asserted, questioning the transparency of the process.
He further criticized the BJP, saying, “Are those who were once guards now looting the treasury?” He alleged that Sunny Pandya’s frequent appearances outside officials’ cabins indicate a deeper network of political-business collusion aimed at influencing multi-crore municipal contracts.
Deshpande called for a high-level investigation involving the Municipal Commissioner, Urban Development Department, and Chief Minister, to ensure accountability and transparency in the awarding of tenders.
