PM Modi to Inaugurate Nagpur-Pune Vande Bharat Express on August 10

Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the Ajni (Nagpur) to Pune Vande Bharat Express on August 10. The train, with ten stops, will offer AC chair car services starting August 14.

Pune | August 8, 2025: In a major boost to rail connectivity between Vidarbha and western Maharashtra, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually inaugurate the Vande Bharat Express between Ajni (Nagpur) and Pune on August 10. The inauguration ceremony will be held at Nagpur Railway Station at 9 am, where the Prime Minister will also flag off two other routes: Bengaluru-Belagavi and Shri Mata Vaishnodevi Katra-Amritsar Vande Bharat Express trains.

This new service will mark the third Vande Bharat Express originating from Nagpur, after the Nagpur-Bilaspur and Nagpur-Secunderabad trains. The long-pending demand for a faster and comfortable train between Nagpur and Pune will finally be fulfilled, providing significant relief to daily and long-distance travelers.

Timings and Route

  • Departure from Ajni (Nagpur): 9:50 am
  • Arrival at Pune: 9:50 pm
  • Return from Pune: 6:25 am
  • Arrival at Ajni: 6:25 pm
  • Frequency: 6 days a week (No service on Mondays from Nagpur)

The train will halt at the following stations: Wardha, Badnera, Akola, Shegaon, Bhusawal, Jalgaon, Manmad, Kopargaon, Ahmednagar, and Daund.

Fares and Coaches

Though there was public expectation for a sleeper Vande Bharat, this inaugural run will feature AC chair car and executive chair car options:

  • AC Chair Car Fare: ₹1,500 approx
  • Executive AC Chair Car Fare: ₹3,500 approx

Service Start Date

Following the inauguration on August 10, regular operations of the Vande Bharat Express will commence from August 14.
